  • Condition: Good Used Estate Fresh and As Found Condition. The pencil looks great . The floaty does not move , the liquid appears to have solidified. The threaded end where the bottom screws on to the top - there is a crack in the threads - as shown in the last pic. It still screws on correctly , so that does not appear to be an issue.     Description

    I have up for sale a neat vintage original circa 1940s GM General Motors DIESEL POWER Floaty Type Mechanical Pencil from the EARLE EQUIPMENT CO Detroit & Grand Rapids , Michigan . The floaty is that of a woman in a bathing suit but she does not float - the liquid appears solid.  The pencil was manufactured by the Secretary Pen Co - Union, NJ and measures approx 5" long.
    I am not sure what the deal is with the liquid but it appears to now be solid. There is crack on the threaded end , shown in the last pic. The pen top still screws on without an issue .
